HOW IT WORKS

order form

Our first point of contact with you. Your very best handwriting is greatly appreciated. Fill out your personal details completely, especially if it’s your first order with Lazarus.

Check the film canister to see if your film is C41 (colour) process or B&W and fill out the corresponding section. Film stock refers to the type of film (eg. Kodak Portra, Fuji Superia etc.) Most disposables are C41 and you can just write ‘disposable’.

Choose your digital scan size. We offer develop only (no images provided), standard resolution and large resolution. Standard scans provide great quality images, but for any commercial work or to see the true capabilities of your equipment, we recommend the large size. Read below for specific file information.

Add any extras (black frame scans, .tiff files) and let us know if you’d like to keep your negatives. No tick, no negatives. If you leave this blank we will discard them automatically.

Last but not least, leave us some notes! If you have a scanner preference, choose it here. To learn about the difference check out our Frontier vs. Noritsu page. Softer feel, high contrast, warm tones, the under exposed look - whatever it is we can make it happen. Let us know how you like it.

invoice

Once we receive your order, we’ll send you through an invoice online via Square with your roll numbers listed.

We recommend making payment immediately to avoid putting your order into purgatory and not having your photos sent.

The invoice is a signal that your film has begun its journey to you and that we have received it safe and sound.

lead times

Lead times can vary due to workload. We’ll do our best to communicate lead times in store or via Instagram.

If deadlines are tight or the anticipation is too much, we always recommend opting for the Rush Order service. This will often be same day turnarounds for colour film, or at the latest by the next business day.

Rush B&W’s will be processed by the next business day.

Standard lead times for colour/C41 film can vary from 3-6 business days from invoice date.

Standard lead times for B&W film is 4-7 business days from invoice date.

B&W is processed by hand and requires extensive drying time. The process is much slower, but they will be worth the wait, we promise.

If you want the look of B&W but a little faster, we recommend shooting Ilford XP2, which is processed through the C41 machine.

We are a two man show working around the clock to get your orders out as quickly as possible. Please do not contact us for order updates until your orders due date has passed. If it has, there has been a technical error we’ll fix straight away. We appreciate your patience.

digital file transfer

Once your photos have been developed and scanned, they will be sent to you via email from WeTransfer.

These can end up in junk/spam from time to time, so please check there too.

Download your photos straight away to your phone or computer. The link will expire in 4 weeks and we may not be able to retrieve your images after their expiration date.

From there, you can post them, print them and send them to your mum. You did it.

postal orders

We love postal orders! No matter where you are in the world you can always get your film to us.

*REMINDER - WE HAVE RECENTLY MOVED*

Please send all orders to 49 Leda Drive, Unit 15, Burleigh Heads QLD, 4220.

Download the order form here and either fill it out, print it and pop it in your package, or complete it online and email it through to us.

Package your rolls well, and always get tracking. We cannot accept responsibility for film that we haven’t received.

We’ll send you an invoice once we receive your film from the postman. If you haven’t received an invoice your order will still be in transit.

scan sizes & file information

All images are exported from the scanners as .jpeg files (unless specified otherwise) at 72 ppi.

To avoid confusion - file information provided on computers through the ‘get information’ feature represent compressed files. This is done to save memory on the disk and is not an accurate description.

To view the uncompressed parameters, open the image in Photoshop, click Image, and then Image Size. This will provide the correct file size information.
